"BC's Coastal Forest Industry: Challenges and Opportunities"
Les Kiss, RPF, Vice-President, Forestry, Coast Forest Products Association (CFPA), has worked in the coast industry in various operational and administrative capacities for over 35 years. His extensive forest management background has been an asset in creating positive provincial legislative and policy changes in the areas of forest tenures, pricing and forest practices. Les takes pride in his ability to provide leadership and facilitate solutions based forest policy development between stakeholders and government on behalf of CFPA members. He is a strong advocate for the protection of the coast harvestable land base and the importance of a balanced approach when considering trade-offs relative to the economic, social and environmental impacts that may result from land-use decisions. Les holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and a Master of Forestry, both from UBC.
