APEBC is pleased to present a double billing for International Women’s Day 2019! Marina’s is the first of 2 events.

Marina Adshade, Ph.D., is a professor of economics at Vancouver School of Economics and SFU School of Public Policy, and author of books such as “The Love Market: What You Need To Know About How We Date, Mate and Marry” and “Dollars and Sex: How Economics Influences Sex and Love”. A smart, entertaining and funny presenter, Marina recently gave a TedTalk (link) about the economics of female sexual freedom.

Join Marina for a discussion about the remarkable economic contribution of Gen X women to the 21st century and the outlook for women in the workforce in this country.

Marina is one of Canada’s foremost economics experts on the role of women in society. Applying a unique mix of behavioural, economic, sociological, and biological theories, and evidence, she confronts a wide range of challenging social issues with warmth and humour. She is a major advocate for inclusive cultural reform, with the goal of increasing safety, competitiveness, and leadership. Marina has appointments to both the Vancouver School of Economics at the University of British Columbia and to the School of Public Policy at Simon Fraser University, and is a well-respected author and social commentator.
