Dr. Murenbeeld graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1972 with a PhD in international finance. He joined the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Toronto but left in 1978 to start M. Murenbeeld & Associates Inc., an economic consultancy in the area of international finance. The company was bought by DundeeWealth Inc., a subsidiary of Dundee Corporation in 2004 and he was appointed Chief Economist of the firm. Dr. Murenbeeld is frequently quoted in the financial press and a regular speaker at international precious metals conferences.
