This presentation will place the ongoing Calgary economic recovery in recent historical context, comparing the current situation to previous downturns and sharing lessons learned as well as the medium-term outlook. It will also examine the place of Calgary in the new technology-driven 21st century economy in which ways of shopping and working are rapidly changing, resulting in new challenges and opportunities for the city. As Wendy focuses on the investment real estate market, she will also share the state of supply and demand in office space, distribution industrial, purpose-built rental and retail centres–and what this further reveals about Calgary’s economy.
